Claribel Shavers

Claribel has 25 years of dedicated service in the affordable housing industry and a decade of experience in asset management, specializing in administering a multitude of HUD and other subsidy programs. Prior to joining OppCo in January 2024, Claribel was a Principal Associate and Manager of the Capacity Building and Learning Team at Abt Associates, providing technical assistance to housing finance agencies and housing authorities across the country. Before Abt, Claribel was Director of Leased Housing and Asset Management at Rhode Island Housing and Chief of Asset Management for HUD’s Boston Office. She also had a decade-long career in property management. She holds a BS in Management Studies from Boston University and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island.
