Opportunity Communities was founded in 2018 by Nuestra Comunidad and The Neighborhood Developers as a joint venture limited liability company. OppCo began expanding its membership in 2022 by welcoming North Shore CDC as a third member.

Nuestra Comunidad is devoted to building the wealth and enhancing the physical, economic, and social well-being of Roxbury and other underserved populations in greater Boston through a community-driven process that promotes self-sufficiency and neighborhood revitalization.

The Neighborhood Developers creates strong neighborhoods enabling community members to secure a stable home, achieve economic mobility, and determine their own future.

  • Portfolio includes 539 affordable rental homes, 1,245 residents

North Shore CDC

North Shore CDC invests in neighborhoods to create thriving communities. We envision a North Shore where every neighborhood is one of choice and opportunity.

  • Serves the north shore communities of Salem, Beverly, Gloucester and Merrimac

  • Founded in 2011 through a merger of Salem Harbor CDC (founded in 1978) and the Beverly Affordable Housing Coalition.

  • Portfolio includes 409 affordable rental homes, 900 residents
